Who is Deb Phillips?

Deb became a certified Bradley childbirth educator in 1982, a lay midwife in 1983, and a state licensed midwife in 1987. She has caught approximately 1,000 babies with an annual case load of about 25 births.

Deb has co-ordinated twenty Arkansas Midwifery Conferences, with national keynote speakers: Dr. Michel Odent, Dr. Gregory White, Dr. Tom Brewer, Ina May Gaskin, Suzanne Arms, Sr. Angela Murdaugh, and Shonda Parker. She continues to have local conferences yearly.

Deb is a member of many pro-life and birthing organizations, including NAPSAC, Christian Midwives International, Birthright, Arkansas Right to Life, and La Leche League International. She is a member of MANA, Arkansas Association of Midwives, and Citizens for Midwifery.

Deb believes in non-interventive, spontaneous birthing handled in a gentle and compassionate manner, and tender care of newly born babies. She supports these ideas in her practice of midwifery.

Deb speaks nationally and around the state on midwifery and home birth. She would be glad to speak to your group also.

A little about myself:

I am from North Little Rock, Arkansas where I belong to St. Anne
Catholic Church.  I am the single mother of 3 grown children: Paige, Yates, and Alex. I have two granddaughters, Sophia and Brianna. We home-schooled for 25 years. I was a Boy Scout leader for 10 years and still love to camp.  I love to garden and have 2 acres in which I do so.  I was a piano teacher and an aerobics teacher for 7 years and a I have a very busy midwifery practice. I carry a case load of close to 40 births a year and have attended approximately 1,150 births total. I have never had a stillbirth. Thank the Lord. I specialize in water birth. I spend a lot of time on the computer and enjoy every minute of it especially playing bridge.  I have recently completed a study of the Spanish language but am still not fluant.  I am also studying to be a Clinical Herbalist and can help you with fertililty or female issues.

I would love to hear from you about any matter related to these issues about which I am so interested. Call me at 501-3501520 for more info or to make an appointment.  There is no charge for a consultation.

My favorite Birthing Bible quotes:

A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come;but as soon as she is delivered of the child she remebreth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. John 16:21

My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. II Corinthians12:9

The King of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah. And when you do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women and see them upon their stools... But the midwives feared God...but saved the men children alive. And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women: for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come unto them. Therefore God dealt well with the midwives and the people multiplied. And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses. Exodus 1:15-21

And the Lord shall help them and deliver them,...because they trust in Him. Ps. 37:40

Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me: O Lord make haste to help me. Ps. 40:13

Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: He is thy help and thy shield. Ps. 115:11
